• Estimated number of lawyers in Papua New Guinea is 1,114
• Estimated number of believers involved in the legal profession is 600
• The name of the local Christian group is Papua New Guinea Christian Lawyers Fellowship (PNGCLF), registered in November 2003 and led by Mr. Andrew Kwimberi. The group has an active network of approximately 70 lawyers.

Major Activities of Christian Lawyers:

PNGCLF lawyers are involved in the following activities:

• Organizing monthly lunch hour fellowship for lawyers and judges
• Circulating a monthly newsletter among all lawyers, judges, and magistrates who are registered members of the Christian Fellowship group
• Informing the same of PNGCLF’s and Advocates International’s global activities
• Providing encouragement through sharing scriptures and prayers

Convocation Goals:

• The Global Convocation organized by Advocates International will be important for PNGCLF because it will allow the Papua New Guinea lawyers to share experiences and meet Christian lawyers from the represented Pacific countries and others.

Prayer Items:

• Commitment among the lawyers in the country to support PNGCLF and its work
• God’s help in hampering the widespread corruption, disrespect for the rule of law, unemployment, crime, drug and human rights abuses in the country
• Halting the escalating HIV/AIDS epidemic which is putting in jeopardy the well-being of the younger generation
• God’s help in building an affirmative governmental leadership
• Improvement of the standard of living
