Central Africa Sub-RegionThe small landlocked central African countries of Rwanda and Burundi form part of an economic union of countries in the central African region. Other members of the Economic Community of Central African States are Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, the oil-rich Congo and Gabon and the vast country of the Democratic Republic of Congo . Despite the extent of insecurity of life and property in the sub-region due to internal fighting, ethnic wars and political instability, the Christian lawyers in these sub-region have shown tremendous interest and zeal for the innkeeper’s lifestyle, which Advocates International strongly encourages. Out of the 9 countries in this sub-region we have very strong and reliable contacts and Christian lawyer groups set up in five of them, namely: Rwanda, Burundi, Cameroon, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo . The sub-region is predominantly French speaking and this has limited our effectiveness and growth in the region. Recently the Africa office of Advocates International started translating the weekly prayer calendars and other correspondence into French. After a few translations we discovered that the logistic was too much for us to deal with especially with our limited resources and technological capabilities.
