Dear Friend,

Good News from Afghanistan to Istanbul and Beyond

The lead religious freedom story in March was the Afghan trial of Abdul Rahman who converted to Christianity 16 years ago. During a child custody dispute, the family turned him over to the police. Converting to any religion from Islam is a capital crime under the Afghan Constitution and carries a mandatory death sentence by hanging. Muslim clerics called for Rahman's execution.

Dear Friend,

The Best Staff Money Can't Buy: There are at least 32 people spread over five continents on Planet Earth who depend on your gifts and prayers each month to enable our mission of mobilizing advocates globally. These people includeour 14 full and part-time staff, along with their spouses, children and several elderly parents who receive about $75 per month in government pensions - just enough to cover their utility bills.

to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." T.S. Eliot

WOW! It's June again! And we're "starting over" by building on what is now in place.

Dear Friend,

Recently I was invited to a book-signing reception inWashingtonDC for former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. She discussed her new book, The Mighty & The Almighty: Reflections on America, God and World Affairs. She noted that although the role of religion should not be ignored in public affairs, it is wrong to allow one's personal faith to influence public policy.

Dear Friend,

Can you change the world for a mere $2.50 per hour? You might say it would take a God-size miracle to do so. I agree. And He has done it - time and time again.

Thanksgiving 2006

Dear Friends,

It's hard for me to recall a Thanksgiving season when we had more to be thankful for than this one! Let me share a few thanksgivings that come to mind:

Thankful for a Sovereign God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thankful that "all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be" Psalm 139:16. Life is His-Story. It has drama, mystery and adventure!
