An Envelope with No Return Address
Before Leaving for Africa, Sam Casey received an envelope with no return address that contained a single card with these two prayers written on it. Both come from the book of common prayer, and especially now they seem particularly applicable. Please join us in praying  for both the Advocates Africa trip, and all those who's commitment to their calling has put them in danger.

For Social Justice
Almighty God, who created us in your image: Grant us grace fearlessly to contend against evil and to make no peace with oppression; and, that we may reverently use our freedom, help us to employ it in the maintenance of justice in our communities and among the nations, to the glory of your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

For Peace
Almighty God, kindle, we pray, in every heart the true love of peace, and guide with your wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth, that in tranquility your dominion may increase until the earth is filled with the knowledge of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

  Update on Advocates' Peace in the Land Project,
Please Pray for Safety

Sam Casey with David Sondheimer, Mon. Innocent, the Legal Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, moi, Prof. Musaburko of the Christian University of Congo and Ben Chappell of CLS San Antonio

Advocates International General Counsel Sam Casey has just sent this email from the field  in regard to his "Peace in the Land" trip.
"Please activate the AI, PRMA  and PM prayer networks in the light of an attack yesterday along the road of our departure.  In this unfortunate attack by rebels on a food truck carrying local traders from the Kasindi boarder market, 16 people  were killed in an RPG attack by rebels looking for food.

We are most encouraged that as a result of this historical conference, the conveners representing a broad cross-section of the Christian lawyers, jurists, law students, prosecutors, higher educators and pastors, it was formally resolved meeting at the Christian bilingual University of Congo by the conferees to start or grow a christian legal fellowship in every E. Congo city (Bunia, Beni, Butembo and Goma. Issues facing E. Congo include:
(1)Land Reform;
(2) Juvenile Justice
(3) Protection of Women and Children Against Violence;
(4) Judicial Independence & Integrity; and
(5) Post-conflict Truth & Reconciliation.

So we are glad we have come to inspire and see such progress in E.DRC,  and we will be most glad for your prayers for the safe completion of our journey back to Uganda.

"

Your prayers and financial support are greatly appreciated. The entire cost of the three-week mission is $15,000, including scholarship assistance for those being trained. Since $11,500 has already been raised or pledged, we need only raise an additional  $3500.  Please make your checks payable to "Advocates International" and send your contribution to the headquarters address set forth in the footer below; or you may securely and more conveniently contribute on line though our web site at  by simply clicking the

"Donate" icon here or below.  Thank you.

Please pray for guidance and wisdom for the entire team, including Sam, as well as  for teachable, peaceful hearts in those with whom he will be working. To help you better understand the entire mission and pray daily or more specifically for the success of the mission, please click

Thank You for Your Financial Support

        AI is not a recipient of government funding and is solely dependent upon the financial contributions of those who believe in its mission, thereby enabling it to serve "clients" ranging from heads of state seeking to implement constitutional reforms to persecuted and imprisoned believers sentenced to death for their faith. We are most grateful and thank you for whatever financial support or voluntary service you can provide in support of AI's mission. Here's how you can help: (more)
