January 21, 2011

It is with mixed emotions that the Board of Advocates International and the Global Council announce the promotion to Glory of our founder and dear brother in Christ, Samuel Eric Hans Ericsson on January 21, 2011 after his eleven year battle with cancer.  While we will dearly miss Sam, we are so grateful that he is now in the presence of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. On behalf of the Global Council, we express our deepest condolences to Bobby and the kids.

"Sam gave invaluable support to all of our countries and regions.  During the many years Sam led our ministry it was clear that he not only understood the importance of encouraging Christian lawyers to live their faith in their professional career but he knew also how to recognize needs and offer suggestions for growth and  development. His personal support provided each one of us inspiration and encouragement. Not only did he give us scholarly advice and wise counsel but he knew of and introduced us to others who extended his contribution. These efforts reflect the highest standards of care and compassion. Bobby, your support of Sam in his many endeavors will leave a lasting legacy. His contributions to the cause of justice and compassion in the whole world are significant and will be remembered."

A memorial service for Sam has been scheduled at Immanuel Bible Church, 6911 Braddock Road, Springfield, VA 22151; (703) 941-4124 for Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 12:00 PM with dinner following the service. We encourage those of you who cannot travel to join with us in spirit.
